Bore water filtration: test first, treat second.

Bore water can look perfectly clear and still have treatment requirements. The safest approach is to understand the water before selecting equipment.

Different problems need different treatment

Sediment, hardness, iron, manganese, pH and microbiological risks are different issues. A sediment cartridge cannot solve hardness, and a softener is not a substitute for disinfection.

Why testing matters

Where the water source is private or there are unknown water-quality concerns, laboratory testing can help identify what actually needs treatment rather than designing a system around assumptions.

Build the system around the result

Once the water issue is known, treatment can be staged appropriately — for example sediment filtration, specialist media, softening or UV where justified.
